Standing Executive Committee Policy 400
Appointments to the Bench and Bar Committee
Adopted August 22, 2003
The members of the Bench and Bar Committee of the State Bar of Georgia shall be appointed as follows:
(a) The President of the State Bar of Georgia shall appoint all of the attorney members of the Committee, one Co-Chairperson to the Committee and one Co-Vice Chairperson to the Committee;
(b) The Chairperson of the Council of Superior Court Judges shall appoint all of the judicial members of the Committee, one Co-Chairperson and one Co-Vice Chairperson on the Committee;
(c) To the extent possible, the number of members appointed by the President of the State Bar and the Chairperson of the Council of Superior Court Judges should be the same.
(d) The following organizations may appoint one liaison member to the Committee:
(1) the Supreme Court of Georgia;
(2) the Court of Appeals of Georgia;
(3) the Council of Superior Court Judges;
(4) the Council of State Court Judges;
(5) the Council of Juvenile Court Judges;
(6) the Council of Probate Court Judges;
(7) the Council of Magistrate Court Judges;
(8) the Council of Municipal Court Judges.
The President of the State Bar shall appoint any Executive Committee Liaison, Staff Liaison and any Advisors to the Committee.
