Section 2. Eligibility
(a) Active members of the State Bar of Georgia in good standing
who are members of the Young Lawyers Division at the time of their
election shall be eligible to hold office in the Young Lawyers Division.
(b)
(1) No person shall be eligible for election of
President-elect if a member of the judicial circuit in which such
person is a member was elected to the office of President-elect at any
time within one year immediately prior to the election in which such
person is a candidate
(2) For purposes of this section, residents of the
Atlanta Judicial Circuit shall include any YLS member who either (a)
resides in the Atlanta Judicial Circuit, or (b) has his or her
principle office in the Atlanta Judicial Circuit, or (c) is a member of
or is employed by a law firm with its principle Georgia office in the
Atlanta Judicial Circuit and his or her office is located in a county
contiguous to the Atlanta Judicial Circuit.
(3) Residency for purposes of this section shall be determined as of January 1 of the subject election year.
The provisions of this section shall become effective with respect to the 1991 Young Lawyers Division elections.
