Section 3. Offices Filled by Election
(a) The president-elect, treasurer and secretary shall be
elected by mail-out ballot in accordance with Section 7 below, to serve
such terms as are provided in these bylaws;
(b) Members and alternate members of the Executive Council representing
Congressional Districts and members at large of the Executive Council
shall be elected at the regular meeting of the Young Lawyers Division
to serve such terms as are specified in these bylaws. Elections of
members and alternate members for Post 1 from the Congressional
District shall be held in odd-numbered years and elections of members
and alternate members for Post 2 from the Congressional District shall
be held in even-numbered years.
(c) For the purposes of the election to be held at the annual meeting
of the Young Lawyers Division in 1978 only, elections of members and
alternate members will be held for Posts 1 and 2 in even-numbered
Congressional Districts and for Post 2 in the odd-numbered
Congressional District. Election to Post 1 in the even-numbered
Congressional Districts shall be for a 1-year term beginning after the
annual meeting of The Young Lawyers Division in 1978, thereafter to be
elected for 2-year terms as provided for in Article III, Section 5(b).
The existing members of the Executive Council elected from the
odd-numbered Congressional Districts are designated as holding Post 1.
(d) For the purposes of Article VI, Section 5(a) only, Posts 1 and 2
from even-numbered Congressional Districts and Post 2 from odd-numbered
Congressional Districts are deemed to terminate at the annual meeting
of the Young Lawyers Division in 1978.
(e) The nonresident member and nonresident alternate member of the
Executive Council shall be elected at the Annual Meeting of the Young
Lawyers Division to serve such term as is specified in these Bylaws.
