ABA Provides Members of the Legal Community with Employment Resources

To address the needs of displaced lawyers and other legal professionals looking for employment, the ABA has recently developed the ABA Job Board in an effort to provide members of the legal community with a single source for job listings.

Housed on the ABA's Career Counsel webpage, the board features more than 500 jobs on any given day. There are posted positions for lawyers, paralegals, information technology specialists and accountants, among others.

In addition, the ABA Job Board features a searchable resumé database, where lawyers and non-lawyers seeking positions in the legal field are able to upload their resumes for viewing by prospective employers. Users can also upload up to five resumé-supporting documents, such as a cover letter and writing samples.

Comprehensive legal career resources, including video presentations and podcasts, are available on the Career Counsel page to supplement the job board. Resources there provide tips on creating eye-catching resumés, acing interviews, staying positive during an economic downturn and communicating in a professional setting, among many other topics.
