Introducing Casemaker 2.0 - A Faster, More Flexible Search Engine

Welcome to Casemaker 2.0! Casemaker 2.0 is now available through the State Bar of Georgia. Casemaker 2.0 has a slightly upgraded interface, but maintains the original functionality of 1.0, so the transition is a piece of cake. Best of all, Casemaker 2.0 offers greater access and flexibility to your searches. Please refer to the following highlights:
 
Casemaker 2.0 Highlights

  • Federal material has been added. Casemaker has added over 3 million documents to the Federal Libraries. The U.S. Supreme Court Library now includes all U.S. Supreme Court opinions. All Circuit Court opinions are now available going back to 1950. Federal District Court copinions are available going back to 1960. Federal Supplements and Bankruptcy Reporter Advanced Sheets are also available.
  • Speed, Speed, Speed - 2.0 is FAST! Casemaker 1.0 users will notice how much faster searches appear vs. 1.0.
  • Direct link to GA library. You will have immediate access to the Georgia library upon logging in. To access the full library contents you may click on the Casemaker logo or the "Contents" button.
  • Multi-state Searches are here! You will be able to search across 50 state libraries for case law and codes. You can choose a selection of states by clicking on the states you want to include in your search. Choosing all states is as simple as checking the "select all" button.
  • Casecheck - is now available on a multi-state level. Once a case search is conducted and the results are retrieved, if the case is cited in other states those cases will show up in the Casecheck field. The order of cited cases will start with the state you initially started within and roll-down.
  • What is the Currency Button? The Currency button located at the top of the state material list will take you to the Currency page. The currency page will show how current the material is.
  • Browse mode for statutes, codes. This feature provides an expandable table of contents showing titles, chapters and sections of state statutes, procedural rules and administrative codes. Users can use this feature just like the table of contents of a book to browse to the material they are looking for.
  • SuperCODE. When a statute that has been amended or repealed by very recent legislation, a SuperCODE link will be visible on the right side of the screen that will transport the user to the relevant portion of the new legislation.
  • Fuzzy Citations. You no longer have to type in "exact" citations. Miss a period or a space and Casemaker will still find the case.
