Message From the Supreme Court of Georgia Regarding Filing Fees
As of July 1, 2009, fees for filing appeals, applications for appeals and applications for a writ of certiorari will increase from $80 to $300 for all civil cases. That is the day House Bill 283 takes effect, amending OCGA ยง5-6-4 and increasing the fees for filings in the Supreme Court of Georgia. The filing fee for criminal cases will remain at $80, as will the fee in habeas corpus cases for persons who are incarcerated.
For further information, please see the full version of House Bill 283.
