Celebrate Law Day -- May 1
Looking for a great way to celebrate Law Day? The Committee on Professionalism of the State Bar of Georgia can help. The Committee has developed the Law Day Attorney's Oath Renewal Ceremony packet of materials that can be used for Law Day programs by local, circuit, and specialty bars around the state.

Download the Law Day Attorney's Oath Renewal Ceremony Packet for more information.

Local Bar Awards -- Call for Entries
Each year, the State Bar of Georgia's Local Bar Activities Committee sponsors the Local Bar Activity Awards, recognizing excellence in local and circuit bar associations. These awards are intended to encourage local and voluntary bars to promote activities within their communities relating to the improvement of the administration of justice, the objectives of the State Bar of Georgia, and the image of lawyers. The awards are presented at the State Bar's Annual Meeting.

The deadline for submission is May 9 and we encourage each local bar to submit an entry. Download the guidelines and criteria for more information. Questions? Contact Stephanie Wilson at stephaniew@gabar.org.

    Law Practice Management Enews Tip
    Charge for the Initial Consultation
Demonstrate to clients the value of time. Deduct the charge from the first bill if retained. This process can "weed out lawyer shoppers."
