Free Online Legal Research Offered Through the State Bar
Did you know that Casemaker, an online legal research tool, is available free of charge to all Bar members as part of their membership? Come learn about this powerful resource at one of our trainings. Casemaker training classes will be offered at the Bar Center on Dec. 21, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Each session is limited to the first 10 attendees. Download the registration form and fax it to Kim Henry at 404-287-8394 by 12 p.m. the day before the class is scheduled.

A Casemaker training session will be taking place in Brunswick, Ga., sponsored by the Brunswick-Glenn County Bar Association and the Coastal Georgia Community College. There will be two classes, 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. that will take place at the Coastal Georgia Community College on Wednesday, Jan. 31. For registration information, contact the college's continuing education department at 912-264-7260 or 800-603-1278.

If you have additional questions about Casemaker, please e-mail Jodi McKenzie at jodi@gabar.org or call 404-526-8618.

Support High School Mock Trial by Attending a Hockey Game
To host the four-day National High School Mock Trial Championship in Atlanta in May 2009, it will cost $300,000-$375,000. To ensure that we have the funds to meet this financial goal, we have collaborated with the Lawyers Foundation of Georgia to establish the Judge Rowland Barnes Endowment fund for High School Mock Trial. Donations to this endowment fund will financially support the 2009 national tournament.

The first fundraising event for the tournament will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at an Atlanta Thrashers hockey game. We are participating in a new program, Commitment to the Community. Through this program, a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales for this game against the Philadelphia Flyers will benefit the Judge Rowland Barnes Endowment fund for High School Mock Trial. Fill out the order form to help support Georgia High School Mock Trial!
