Proposed New Georgia Rules of Evidence
The Evidence Study Committee encourages all Bar members to carefully study the important and comprehensive proposed significant changes from the current Georgia Rules of Evidence to the New Georgia Rules of Evidence, which would occur under the proposed Rules of Evidence being put forward by the Evidence Study Committee. Your representatives on the Board of Governors will be voting on this no earlier than the fall meeting and welcome your advice. Visit the website for detailed information and a link to the proposed new rules of evidence.

Volunteer for the 2007 Law School Orientations on Professionalism
Demonstrating that professionalism is the hallmark of the practice of law, the Law School Orientations have become a central feature of the orientation process for entering students at each of the state's law schools over the past 15 years. The Professionalism Committee is now seeking lawyers and judges to volunteer to return to your alma maters or to any of the schools to help give back part of what the profession has given you by dedicating a half day of your time this August. You will be paired with a co-leader and will lead students in a discussion of hypothetical professionalism and ethics issues. Minimal preparation is necessary for the leaders. Review the provided hypos, which include annotations and suggested questions, and arrive at the school 15 minutes prior to the program. Pair up with a friend or classmate to co-lead a group. Fill out the volunteer form to get started.
