YLD Ethics and Professionalism Award
Nominations
The Ethics and Professionalism Committee of the
Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia invites
nominations for a young lawyer who demonstrates/exemplifies
professional and ethical conduct in the practice of law. The
deadline for submissions is May 18. For guidelines and a nomination
form, please visit the YLD website.
Solo & Small Firm Institute and Technology
Showcase April 26-28
The 3rd Annual Solo & Small Firm
Institute and Technology Showcase will take place April 26-28 at the
Bar Center. The Solo and Small Firm Institute - "Finding Success in
the Practice Jungle" has been set up to help solo and small firm
lawyers (firms of 20 or less) and their staff because practicing law
can be a real jungle. The conference is preceded by a new "Practice
Success" Boot Camp that is designed to assist new and experienced
practitioners with effective office management, productivity and
profitability. Registration is now available through ICLE at www.iclega.org. Act fast

Second Annual Diversity Business Development
Symposium May 2
Register now for the Second Annual State Bar
of Georgia Business Development Symposium for women, minorities and
GLBT attorneys in the legal profession. The symposium will be held
at the Bar Center on Wednesday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.,
with a reception following. This program is for corporations seeking
diverse legal teams, and minority and women counsel seeking
opportunities to establish relationships with inside counsel. For

Free Online Legal Research Offered Through the
State Bar
Did you know that Casemaker, an online legal
research tool, is available free of charge to all Bar members as
part of their membership? Come learn about this powerful resource at
one of our trainings. Training classes will be offered at the Bar
Center on Friday, March 16 and March 30, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and
from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Each session is limited to the first 10
attendees. Download the registration form and fax it to Kim Henry at
404-287-8394. Please register for the class by 12 p.m. the day
before the class is scheduled.
The Cobb County Law Library's Lunchtime Lecture Series will
feature Casemaker Training on April 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
There is a small fee of $20 for the Lunchtime Lecture Series. This
fee includes lunch and two CLE credits. Space is limited, so
register today by contacting the Cobb County Law Library at

Make sure all the details
regarding your services and the client's obligation to pay are in
writing and signed by all parties. If you're currently not using fee
agreements and need a sample, please contact Kim Henry at kim@gabar.org or 404-527-8772. We
can mail, fax or e-mail the material to you.
Nominate a Pro Bono Leader
The State Bar
of Georgia Pro Bono Project is highlighting a monthly "Pro Bono
Leader" on Georgia’s statewide volunteer lawyer support website, www.GeorgiaAdvocates.org. Please consider nominating
yourself or a colleague for civil pro bono publico service.

rule. Nominees who are selected may also be featured in the
