Help
Support the State Bar's Public Education Initiative
Over the past four years, the State Bar of Georgia has invested significant
effort and financial resources into an ambitious public education
initiative, the Foundations of Freedom program. The goal is simple
and focused: to spread the truth about how the justice system operates and
the important role of judges, jurors and lawyers in making America's
constitutional democracy work. Your personal support for the Foundations of
Freedom program is greatly appreciated, and we invite your financial
support through the Legislative & Public Education Fund on your
2008-09 dues statement. For more information about the initiative, please
visit the website.

The
Gary Christy Memorial Trial Skills Clinic
The Gary Christy Memorial Trial Skills Clinic will be held at the University
of Georgia School of Law June 19-22, 2008. The clinic provides a great
opportunity for young lawyers to sharpen their courtroom skills under the
watchful eyes of clinic mentors, who are some of the most experienced trial
attorneys and judges in Georgia. A murder case and a defamation case will
be tried. Each attendee will be part of an eight to ten person small group
that will work with two or three mentors. The preparation is intense and
the rewards are "priceless." Download the clinic brochure for more
information, including the agenda and registration form. This event
provides two complete years of MCLE credit for Georgia attorneys.
YLD
Disaster Legal Assistance Committee Seeks Volunteers

Law
Practice Management Enews Tip
Clearly Communicate Your Expectations
How do you know if you're effectively delivering a clear, consistent
message? Ask!!! Because people tend to soften difficult answers, you may
want someone else to ask for you. That might be your firm administrator, a
younger partner, or perhaps an outside consultant. Ellen Freedman has recently
written an article concerning miscommunications, their cost, and how to
avoid them, in a new article entitled Communicate Your Expectations
Clearly. Contact us for a copy of the article at 404-527-8772.
