Nominate an Outstanding Child Advocate Now
Since 2000, the Juvenile Law Committee has hosted an annual juvenile law CLE event in conjunction with a luncheon awards ceremony to honor Georgia Child Advocates of the Year. The one-day seminar is open to attorneys and practitioners in juvenile court and provides several tracks of new and interesting areas in juvenile law. The child advocate of the year award is bestowed upon outstanding juvenile court advocates in many areas including: judge, prosecutor, defense attorney and Special Assistant Attorney General. The annual event has become a well-known opportunity for juvenile attorneys to obtain CLE credits and celebrate excellence in the field.
This year's event will be a Juvenile Law Symposium in the fall, featuring a celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in In re Gault as well as the hopeful release of a reading draft of Georgia's Model Juvenile Code, developed through the Juvenile Law Committee's comprehensive code revision efforts.
